UNIVERSITY STATUS:
Students: Classified as Undergraduate, Graduate or Unclassified
Faculty & Staff: Classified as Faculty or Staff. “Faculty” will be indicated on UBCcards of cardholders who hold both faculty and staff appointments
Emeritus & Retired Staff: Classified as either “Emeritus” or “Retired”

NAME: Name of cardholder

STUDENT OR UBC EMPLOYEE NUMBER: Student or employee identification number of the cardholder

MAGNETIC STRIPE: The magnetic stripe contains the cardholder’s name and identification number

EXPIRATION DATE: UBCcards are typically valid for up to five years and must be renewed upon expiration

STUDENT OR UBC EMPLOYEE NUMBER: Student or employee identification number of the cardholder

LIBRARY BARCODE: Library barcode and barcode numbers are automatically generated during card production

iCLASS NUMBER: The iClass number is the 5 digit number following the asterix (*). Each iClass UBCcard has an embedded radio-frequency chip that functions as an access token that permits access into electronically-controlled areas.
